Three Gorges Dam
Three Gorges Dam is geographically located at latitude 30° 49' 23" North of the Equator and longitude 111° 0' 11" East of the Prime Meridian on the Map of World. The Three Gorges Dam is a hydroelectric gravity dam that spans the Yangtze River. The Dam is located by the town of Sandouping, in Yiling District, Yichang, Hubei province of China. The dam body was completed in 2006. The Three Gorges Dam power plant was completed in 2012. China regards the Three Gorges Dam project as a monumental social and economical success. In 1999, at the peak of the construction of the Three Gorges Dam, over 40,000 workers lived in Sandouping city.
